Tecno customers receive premier access to BBM

Tecno mobile phones will now preinstall BBM™on TECNO phones running the Android operating system. With BBM preinstalled, customers will be able to easily get started chatting and connecting with friends and family on the popular private social network from BlackBerry®.

BBM, with its privacy, control and immediacy, is very popular in the Nigerian market, where everybody wants a BBM PIN. Continue...

According to Vice President, TECNO Group, Mr. Arif Chowdhury, BBM will be preloaded on TECNO phones in 20 countries. For customers already using TECNO phones, BBM will of course be available as a free download on the Google Play store.

“This collaboration is good news for customers,” saidChowdhury. “It is our objective, not only for Nigerians, but for Africans as a whole, to acquire smartphones and enjoy a smart life and to be able to use the phone to its maximum benefit, and that is why we are working with BlackBerry to preload BBM on all new TECNO smartphones.

“After the huge success of the Phantom A series, TECNO is now launching the next star product named Phantom AIII, and of course, this high technology smartphone will come preloaded with BBM,” added Chowdhury.

Android customers can enjoy the rich features of BBM that include:

·         BBM Chat – Enjoy real, immediate conversations with friends on Android, iPhone and BlackBerry smartphones. Not only does BBM let you know that your message has been delivered and read, it also shows you that your friend is responding to the message.

·         More than chat – With BBM you can share files on your phone such as photos and voice notes, all in an instant.

·         Keep your group in the loop – Multi-person chats are a great way to invite contacts to chat together. BBM Groups lets you invite up to 30 friends to chat together, and go a step further than multi-chat by sharing photos and schedules. And, with Broadcast Message, you can send a message out to all your BBM contacts at once.

·         Post Updates and stay in the know – BBM lets you post a personal message, profile picture and your current status, and lets your contacts know instantly in Updates.

·         Your unique PIN – Every BBM user has a unique PIN that maintains your privacy, so you don’t have to give out your phone number or email address to a new or casual contact.

Executive Vice President for BBM at BlackBerry Mr. Andrew Bocking said, “BBM continues to grow in popularity and as the recent launch on Android and iOS suggests, BBM is the ‘must have’ app for active conversations. While we continue to evolve BBM with more features and functionality, we are excited to work with OEMs like TECNO to preinstall BBM, giving their smartphone customers in Africa quick and easy access to the service right out of the box.”

Things to consider before buying a laptop

Buying a new laptop computer can be both
frustrating and expensive. Technology is
growing with times, a sign of
transformation. Same can be in computer
world, previously we used to be happy with
PC but now the whole criteria are changed
as people are upgrading themselves for
using Laptops. Recent years showed
advancement in Laptops and the reason
behind increased purchasing trends is its
portability which makes it easy to use and
moving from one place to another without
applying efforts. So people prefer the use
of Laptops over Personal Computers because
of several reasons including upcoming
technology, portability, etc. But, often we
get baffled when it comes to purchasing new
Laptops.
Often, we are deceived by purchasing the
system which is not self-reliable to use. So,
before buying a new Laptop,
things to consider before buying a new
laptop are below :

1. Specifications:
This is the initiative point one should keep in
mind before buying a new Laptop. Technical
specifications include system’s hardware
and software ingredients which is the basic
things. One should check out the RAM
capacity, Hard Disk, Processor, Video Card,
etc which ascertain a Laptop’s reliability or
otherwise. If its capacity is low, then you
will obviously suffer fluctuations like
frequent hanging up of system and so on. So,
it’s recommended to go with such master
piece which is derived with at least 4 GB
RAM, 320 GB Hard Disk, Dual Core i5
processor including one Graphic Card. So,
before purchasing any Laptop, put this into
consideration.

2. Structure and Durability:
The next priority to keep in mind is Laptop’s
structure which includes size, durability,
weight and so on. The main purpose for
selecting net book is its portability and if
the size for same is lumpy, then there’s no
catch. So you should see whether the device
is handy or not. You should also think of its
weight; normally, a system weighing about
two kilogrammes is pretty to determine the
reliability and portability.
These two factors even determine the
durability of system. Users with harsh
working tendency always need that device
to endure surprising shocks. So, the laptop
must have extra tough metal covered, to
ensure no internal damages are done to the
hard disk, processor, etc. Thus, if you are
completely satisfied with the structure of a
Laptop, then go for it.

3. Battery Life:
The Battery Life is directly or indirectly
the first need of any user. If the device’s
battery system is of poor quality, then one
will face many inevitable problems. The very
first thing to do as a customer is, first ask
about the Laptop’s battery life. So one
should check and enquire about maximum
support the Laptop’s battery will give.
Standard need is 10 hours or as per usage.

4. Price and Budget:
Every person has its own budget, and one
should buy Laptops bearing same in mind. For
instance, if your budget is 25, 000 and you
are dreaming of a device which costs 50,
000, this is calling for avoidable debts. So,
in such case, you should concentrate on main
functions needed for your use. In cheap
price you can’t enjoy latest technology but
can surely seek out functions which are
basic and required one.

5. Other Specifications:
Other things include connectivity, user
guide, display resolution, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth,
USB ports, etc. These are the required
specifications which users should keep and
things to consider before buying a new
laptop.

7 Things To Do If Your Phone Keeps Restarting

Many mobile users have been noted to have complains of
phone that keeps restarting. There are several obvious
reasons as to why your phone may keep restarting.

I have taken some some time to explain some of the
common reasons below and instructions you can adhere
to fix such bug.

1. UNINSTALL NEW APPLICATION
Many mobile gadget users gets a timeless phone
restarting bug the moment they install new applications
that are partially or not compatible with their
devices.Sometimes times they may erroneously attribute
it to having installed a virus infected application. But
that may not always be the case. The possible solution is
to do away or undo installation to get rid of the installed
files.

If you are a java phone user, and you have an
antivirus installed , then you should completely uninstall
it 'cus it is totally needless.

2. DO AWAY WITH OLD SIM

Yes! you may have to do away with that old SIM on your
mobile and learn how to make a replacement for that.
Do this after you must have tried putting away that old
SIM for like days to examine the performance of your
phones.

If the Old SIM happens to be the reason why
your phone keeps restarting, then do a welcome back.

3. FORMATTING YOUR DEVICE
The next resort after the 2 mentioned steps above is to
format your Mobile device .Formatting helps to do away
with all foreign objects and files that are malicious and
harmful to your device. Dial *#7370# on your home
screen and next, enter lock code.

Don't forget to back up
all files and folder and contacts stored in your phone or
else you may end up loosing them.

4. SCAN YOUR PHONE WITH ANTIVIRUS
Do a thorough scan of all files and folder on your mobile
drives if you have to. You can scan them with your
antivirus on PC.

5. KEEP PHONE AWAY FROM EXTREME TEMPERATURE
Exposure to extreme conditions (for instance, exposure
to the sun for long hours) can make an electronic device
reboot. In addition to that, it is 'unhealthy' for the
battery.

6. VISIT A QUALIFIED MOBILE TECHNICIAN
After all these steps above then you can assert is sure is
for sure a hardware issue. If everything fails, it is more
likely to be a hardware problem. In this case, you have to
take your device to a near Nokia Care point.

Remember to bring your warranty proof with you.

7. UPGRADE YOUR DEVICE FIRMWARES
Updating your firmware resolves any issues that may be
found in current firmware version as well as it keeps
your device updated and fixes a lot of bug.

Many phones respond positively to firmware upgrade and trust me, it
works like Magic. But you should only do this after the
above steps must have proved abortive.

How To Boot Your Android Device or Tab Into Safe Mode For Troubleshooting

There are times you
install some applications
on your android device
and suddenly it begins
to malfunction or
refuse to boot up.

Safe
mode is a great tool
that you can use to
troubleshoot these
issues. Safe mode
boots your phone
running only the apps
that came with the
phone – that means no
third-party apps. From

safe mode, you can
uninstall any app you
want to.
Unfortunately, not all
phones have the same
method to enter safe
mode. Most Jelly Bean
devices use the first
method below, but
some devices with older
versions of Android and
some newer devices
(like the Galaxy S 4 and
HTC One) use the
alternate method
further down the page.

How To Boot To Safe
Mode

1. Hold down the
physical power button
on your device.

2. Long-press the
“Power off” option that
appears

3. A dialog box asking
you if you want to
reboot to safe mode
may pop up. Tap OK

4. When the phone
reboots, you should see
a “Safe Mode”
watermark at the
bottom left of the
screen, to let you know
that you are in fact in
safe mode.

Alternate Method
(some older versions
of Android and some
Jelly Bean phones)

1. Turn off your phone.

2. Once your phone is
off, turn it on by
pressing the power
button.

3. As your phone is
booting, hold down both
the volume up and
volume down buttons
(yes, both) and keep
them held.

4. Once your phone has
booted, you should see
a “Safe Mode”
watermark at the
botom left of the
screen, to let you know
that you are in fact in
safe mode.

Note:
If the alternate
method also doesn’t
work, you can try
holding down menu
instead of volume up
and down while booting.

Please always
remember that any app
you download can easily
be uninstall from safe
mode most especially if
the app freezes, or
refuse to boot up your
android device.

To exit safe mode, you
just restart your device
as you normally would.

Upcoming BlackBerry update to allow Android app installs but no Play Store access

Rumors surrounding the upcoming BlackBerry update have made quite a stir in recent days, as it was speculated that it
would allow access to the Google Play store to install Android apps.

A BlackBerry spokesman has recently quashed allegations that BlackBerry is planning any sort of Google Play access.
Nevertheless, insiders have revealed that the update will include the Android runtime, which means that you’ll be able to install and run Android apps.

The official line from BlackBerry to n4bb goes like this:

“We can confirm that there is no planned support for Google Play on BlackBerry.
BlackBerry World remains the primary source for trusted and
curated BlackBerry applications and we continue to support open standards and open source tools so BlackBerry developers can continue to create apps on any of the
development platforms we support.”

Meanwhile, folks over at the CrackBerry forums have revealed that the Android runtime will, in fact, be included with the upcoming BlackBerry 10.2.1.1055 update, which will allow you to sideload Android .APK files and install them right from the file manager.

You can also use various .APK downloaders to make the task easier, and you obviously won’t have to convert them to BlackBerry’s native .BAR files beforehand. Currently,
Android widgets won’t be supported, but we’re hopeful that complete Android implementation will be available before
long – BlackBerry stock would certainly
appreciate it.
